Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor
Jenni Johnson is a lifelong equestrian and was riding before she could walk. She competed heavily in eventing, dressage, and jumpers in her youth, and worked her way up through the pony club levels. She started volunteering at a therapeutic riding center in her early teens. Jenni credits horses for surviving a difficult adolescence and knows personally the incredible power of having equines in ones life.
Jenni has been professionally training horses her entire adult life, is an avid carriage driver and has been offering layup services and rehabilitation for horses at her farm in Barboursville, VA where she lives with her husband, 8 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats! She also studied equestrian science at the University of Findlay before moving to Virginia in 1999 to pursue horses full time.
Jenni has also just recently retired from 23 years of breeding Andalusians and Lusitanos. She has been competing up and down the east coast in combined driving with both client and home bred horses she has retained from her breeding program. Jenni was the 2012 IALHA professional horsewoman of the year and was chosen to participate in the USEF developing driver program from 2014-2017.
Jenni is a PATH International Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor and is actively pursuing her ESMHL and Driving instructor certifications. Jenni brings over 20 years of teaching experience in riding and driving to LTR.
