Please join us in paying tribute to those horses who served Loudoun Therapeutic Riding and our students so well in years past. While they have now moved on to greener pastures, they will forever be in our hearts.
Awesome Art 2009 – 2020
Appendix QH, chestnut, gelding
In his younger years before becoming a therapy horse, Art had a career in western pleasure and dressage. Through our programs, Art was used a lot during PATH International instructor workshops and certification.
Simba 2012 – 2019
Percheron cross, bay, gelding
Simba came to LTR after a career as a successful fox hunter, who knew his job and did it well. He had a very sweet demeanor, and very smooth comfortable gaits for our riders.
Lenox 2004 – 2015
Thoroughbred / Holsteiner cross, bay, mare
Lenox was the definition of a dressage queen! She was very happy showing her students the ropes of dressage and she could ride a 20-meter circle with her eyes closed!
Bosco 2009 – 2017
Thoroughbred / Paint, gelding
Bosco had a successful career in the hunters before starting his new career at LTR. His show background gave him great wisdom to share with his students.
Barney 2013 – 2018
Pony cross, chestnut, gelding
Owned by Judi Grass, Barney was trained to drive as well as go under saddle. He loved working with his independent students and had a big personality.
