How do I get me/my child involved in a program?

Please visit the prospective student page and complete the online application. You will be contacted by a staff member to arrange a visit to the farm for an initial evaluation.

How much does it cost for lessons?

Fees are session-based for 8, 10 or 12 weeks which run year-round. See our policies document on the Student page for more information.

What programs do you offer?

Therapeutic (adaptive) riding and carriage driving. Equine Services of Heroes (Veterans), Silver Spurs (seniors living in residential memory care), Physical Therapy (using Hippotherapy – the medical use of movement of the horse – this service is managed by Catherine Wycoff, DPT, PT who is an LTR contractor).

What is Horse Powered Learning?

Horse Powered Learning is a series of unmounted sessions with horses, focusing on reading skills including phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Sessions will be small groups led by certified facilitators of the Horse Powered Reading curriculum.

How do I donate my horse or my equipment?

Please contact us for more information and a member of our horse care staff will reach out. While it might seem like an easy job for an older horse, therapeutic services can be quite demanding physically and emotionally. Good candidates are of sturdy build, sound at walk, trot, and preferably canter, with a quiet, sensible temperament. LTR requires a 30-60 trial period to assess a prospective herd member’s suitability.

Can I volunteer my time (or my group's time) to help?

Yes! Please contact us or complete a Volunteer Application on our website under ‘Get Involved’.

Do you take insurance?

While adaptive/therapeutic riding is not covered by insurance, physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy may be covered depending on your insurance provider.
